This White Dolce & Gabbana Jacket is based on the classic reefer shape and is made of heavy white cotton fabric, it is double breasted and the eagle and crown buttons are quite a feature. The buttons are also used on the epaulettes.
Although comparatively recent, a lot of the original white items have not survived in good condition, this is an exception as it has possibly been stored in polythene so has not been over cleaned and discoloured. In the late 80’s early 90’s white pieces where so popular with designers that they became know an ‘new age dressing’ and were a direct reaction to the gold and heavy prints that proceeded them.
